Inspired By... Stanhope Forbes - The Old Harbour

Stanhope Forbes was the inspiring leader of the famous Newlyn School of Art. Working 'en plein air' around the huddled streets of the small fishing village, Forbes captured the fishermen, their working boats and a disappearing way of life. Added to this, the intoxicating clear light of the bay gave rich texture to his works.
